In the advanced theater class offered at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School, called "Production Workshop," students are assigned specific "jobs" that they are in charge of from day one through all of the performances. I was given the job to be the lighting designer on my own. I spent time during my independent study learning how to draft light plots on Vectorworks so that I could create my own drafted digital light plot from scratch. I also created the channel hookup as well as a magic sheet. I participated and directed parts of light hang and made all of the important lighting decisions like ordering and choosing practical lights, gobos, and gel colors. I also actively designed all of the light cues for the show, implementing all of the visual research that I had done prior to tech weekend. (2019)
